IIMP has organised two FDP programs, sponsored by All India Council of Technical
Education (AICTE)
On the topics of “Statistical Analysis: Tools and Techniques “and “Data Science
with R” from 9th December to 21st December 2019.FDP on “Data Science with R”:
Data Analysis has become an essential part of everyday life and emerged as a
critical component of modern business intelligence in recent years. Data
Scientists have a number of options to analyse data using statistical methods.
One of the most convenient and powerful methods is to use the R Programming
language. Analysing meaningful data is also critical for policymaking. Data
science and Statistical modelling techniques help in decision making and a
formulation of business strategies. Keeping this in mind IIMP has organised a
two weeks FDP on “Data Science with R”. This FDP has helped participants learn
how to tackle data analysis problems using the powerful open-source language R.
Participants have also learned about how to compute various statistical measures
and create meaningful data visualizations.
FDP on “Statistical Analysis: Tools and Techniques”:
Statistical analysis is an integral part of any research process. Since most of
the faculty members do not have graduate degree in statistics, it is necessary
for them to have at least basic knowledge of statistics. With IT becoming an
integral part of the industry, huge data is generated by the organizations
leading to wide opportunities for research with industry. Analyzing huge volumes
of industrial data to uncover the underlying patterns for making important
strategic decisions in the industry is vital. For such analysis, knowledge of
statistical analysis tools is essential. The knowledge of these tools is vital
for faculty members aspiring to work in close association with Industry. Keeping
this in mind IIMP has organized a two week long FDP program sponsored by AICT on
the topic of “Statistical Analysis: Tools and Techniques”. In this FDP Faculty
members acquired analytical skills through practical exposure. They can now
impart this knowledge to students to make them industry ready. Also the
knowledge gained for this FD will help the faculty members conducting research
along with Industry in their specialization domain.
