MBA Induction 2015
Induction of the new batch at Indira has always been a vivacious event as it marks the introduction of the fresh talent into the Indira family. The aspirants at Indira Institute of Management come from varied cultural backgrounds and diverse geographical locations. They look forward and are eager to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities to become successful management professionals. Induction program thus signifies the commencement of an unprecedented journey of growth and ascent for the new students at IIMP.
“Developing Responsible Leaders” was the theme of the induction program. The opening day of the Induction witnessed the enthusiasm and anxiety among the students. The day was dedicated towards acclimatizing the students with the culture and values of Indira Institute of Management. Dr. Pandit Mali, Director - IIMP welcomed the new students onboard and addressed them on the essence of Happiness and Wealth in their career. The session was followed by the Faculty introduction and a discourse on Life at Indira by Mrs. Pallavi Sajanapwar (HOD-in charge, MBA- IIMP).
The subsequent days marked the sessions conducted by eminent speakers and scholars from Industry and Academia. Mr. Shantanu Sen Sharma – Co Founder & Chief Mentor of Ozone Consultants, in his session ‘From Campus to Corporate’ addressed the students on Employability. Mrs. Jyoti Gokhale, Counselor spoke on ‘Challenges faced by MBA Students’ and encourage the students to follow their aspirations confidently.
A motivational and proactive session was conducted by Mr. Shailesh Malu, a motivational speaker. His teachings on “actions have power to change emotions”, “we don’t need a reason to be happy”, “drop your limits”, “one human life well lived is enough” left a mark on optimistic thinking among the students. An Outdoor Management Training program was organized as a part of fun and management learning.
Prof. Bijay Guha introduced the concept Business and Management. Mrs. Pallavi Padgoankar an Image Management Consultant, spoke on ‘Brand You’ a concept to build self-image in the corporate world. Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, Group Director, IGI enlightened the students with importance of lateral thinking through videos on innovations. Ms. Madhuri Sathe – Executive Director, Corporate Relations – IGI spoke on Placements at Indira and Employability. Apart from these, sessions by E Cell and Alumni Cell brought life into the students whereby the alumni shared their experience.
The Grand finale of the induction program was graced by the Chief Guest Mr. Babu Vittal, Sr. Director- HR Flipkart, Guest of Honor Mr. Sanjay Tamhankar, Director-SCM Cummins India Ltd., Dr. Tarita Shankar Chairperson- IGI and Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, Group Director – IGI. Mr. Babu Vittal created awareness about corporate life and changing market dynamics among the students and Mr. Sanjay Tamhankar addressed the students on five dimensions of leadership and how to develop responsible leadership.
