PGRC at Indira

Indira Institute of Management, Pune has a Post Graduate Research Centre, recognized by University of Pune for giving admission to candidates aspiring to the Degree of Philosophy in Management. At present we have 12 candidates registered for Ph.D.

PGRC has the following role to play in academic research:

  • To plan and carry out training programs, so as to maintain and develop the standards of the faculty of the Institution
  • To plan and carry out research related seminars, panel discussions and lecture series for the benefit of the faculty members of the Institutes in particular and for the benefit of the academic community in general.
  • To develop panels of expert guides to conduct Ph.D. programs.

1 Advanced Research Methodology in Management 08.01.2009 – 10.01.2009 Faculty / Corporates Topics covered research advances in HR/OB, Finance, Interdisciplinary research and Marketing The resource persons were directors of various management institutes in Pune and approved Ph. D Guides in Management
2 Use of SPSS for Analysis 03.07.2009 – 04.07.2009 Faculty members of IIMP/ISBS Training program on the use of SPSS software for analysis The training was a mix of theory and practical. The participants were given a study to enter onto the software and analyze the results
3 National Conference on ‘Rural Management – Current Trends and Future Prospects 15.01.2010 Faculty / Corporates Call for papers on conference themes The selected participants presented their papers and in the second half we had sessions by Dr M Somaiya and Dr Mrs Prachee Javadekar
4 Orientation Program for UoP Ph. D Entrance Examination 08.02.2010 – 10.02.2010 Faculty members of IGI Maiden entrance test for Ph. D aspirants. PGRC arranged various sessions for updating knowledge of faculty General sessions and subject specific sessions were conducted by guides and senior faculty members
5 Facing the Interview for Ph. D aspirants 16.02.2010 Faculty members of IGI On clearing both papers the candidates have to face interview. PGRC arranged a session on various parameters through which the candidates will be assessed. PPT and session on preparedness was conducted by Dr Mrs Prachee Javadekar, Dr Dilip M Sarwate and Dr Mrs Neha Sharma
6 Acceptance of Autonomy – A survey 21.02.2010 Aspirants to MBA In order to understand the need of the students or aspirants to the Masters program and their thoughts on what Autonomy means to them, it was decided to conduct a survey and gather information. A single page questionnaire was designed and administered by the students of Indira Institute of Management to the candidates as they came out of the MH –CET examination. Out of the total 100 questionnaires deployed 92 entries were found valid

8 Faculty Development Program on HR / IR 17.03.2011 Faculty members of IGI A real life tough case study involving IR strategies. During the discussion, interactive sessions on HR/IR concepts will be conducted. Program conducted by Prof Sanjay Sukhtankar
9 Workshop on Research Methodology 29.07.2011 – 30.07. 2011 Faculty members of IGI PGRC had organized a comprehensive two day non-residential Workshop in Research Methodology in which the fundamentals of research methodology were explained. Program was conducted by Dr. Dilip M Sarwate
10 Workshop on Questionnaire Design 8. 11. 2012 Faculty members from various Management Institutes Workshop for understanding the essentials of Questionnaire Design and its importance in Research especially for scholars pursuing Ph.D. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Ashutosh Narayan Misal, Director, Novel Institute of Management
